New emergency decontamination cupola from Enware highly portable and easy to assemble
A lightweight and highly portable decontamination shower cupola is being marketed throughout the Asia-Pacific by Enware as part of its Safe-Equip range of emergency response equipment.
The NATO-registered inflatable Cupola Lightweight Mk 1 Shower – shown at the Global Security Asia exhibition in Singapore – is intended for chemical, biological, radioactive and explosive (CBRE) emergencies.
Enware Managing Director Mr Paul Degnan says the 53kg CBRE shower is a new, highly economical addition to the company’s broader range of decontamination showers aimed at civil and industrial emergency services.
“Risk management is becoming increasingly important not only for industrial plants, mines, laboratories, construction sites and resources plants, but also for surroundings ranging from schools and outdoor entertainment venues, to businesses and hospitality venues, airports and transport terminals. Places such as these must have emergency equipment in place to protect staff, guests and people for whom they are responsible in hazardous situations where fast, reliable and effective equipment can make all the difference.”
The seven-head CBRE shower – available through Enware’s Singapore and Australian branches – responds to situations such as chemical accidents, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, white powder incidents and biological hazard events.
Folding down into a package 1000mmX650mmX450mm, the PVC lined and coated shower delivers 30 litres of water a minute at 3 bar. The shelter frame incorporates four polyamide fabric, rubber-coated legs which are inflated under low, (3 bar) pressure to form a structure 2400mm high, 2000mm long and 2140mm wide. These legs support the easily removable liner, supported by Velcro sleeves, incorporating two easily operated doors, two inspection windows and a roof vent. The kit comes complete with waste water pump, brush, rubber gloves, isolation valve, external feed pipe (terminated with geka coupling), air pump, repair kit and guy lines. The system fits into a valise which, when opened, also acts as a ground sheet.
