Caredesign’s drinking fountains will help compliance when disability standard becomes part of building code

|
|
With the Disability (Access to Premises – Buildings) Standard due to be incorporated in the building code in 2011, attention is increasingly focused on products that allow people with disabilities to use the facilities of public buildings.
Greater access to buildings by people with a disability is a long recognised need, now enshrined in the law via the Premises Standard, but other less obvious difficulties remain.
With these in mind, Caredesign has launched a range of barrier-free drinking fountains for both public spaces and occupational workplaces, including schools, hospitals, transport hubs, shopping centres and aged care facilities.
These drinking fountains project outwards, allowing complete wheelchair access and alleviating the problem of drinking facilities that are too high for some people to use or cannot be accessed from a wheelchair.
Where users are likely to be drinking at different heights, the Wall Mounted Split Height Drinking Fountain is the solution. It’s Hi-Lo design provides dual fountains with matching finishes at the levels desired by users
Caredesign’s barrier free drinking fountains accommodate both wheelchair and pedestrian patrons. Their contemporary appearance enhances the environment, without any sense of condescension towards users.
CareDesign has supplied over 200 projects, partnering with prominent aged care operators, hospitals, education facilities, disability support centers, hotels and resorts, major construction companies and developers, as well as leading architects.
