Double safety in rugged eye and face washes from Enware

Safety deluge range has third party endorsement in line with ANSI Z 358.1 2004

Combination emergency eye-and-face washers have been introduced to the Enware safety deluge range for industrial and commercial applications where workers may be exposed to particularly hazardous chemicals and other injurious substances.

The wall and pedestal-mounted safety equipment is part of an extensive range of Enware shower and decontamination technology manufactured in Australia to comply with the toughest regulations covering workplace safety.

“In applications ranging from minerals processing to primary processing, from energy generation to medicine, cleaning and manufacturing, there can be extremely aggressive chemicals present. These can extend from acids to arsenic and other poisons, from chlorines and water treatments, to volatile fuels and cleaning agents. Where these accidentally touch the face or eyes, it is important to remove them without delay to minimise potential damage,” said the Managing Director of Enware Australia Pty Ltd, Mr Paul Degnan, whose company also manufactures full deluge showers and fixed and portable decontamination equipment.

In what is believed to be a first in Australia, Enware now has third party endorsement for its safety deluge range in line with ANSI Z 358.1 2004 requirements. What this means is that all of our relevant deluge products have been independently tested and approved by a registered independent body (the CSIRO), says Mr Degnan.

The rapid cleansing action of Enware’s combination eye and face washes delivers soft streams of aerated water to quickly cleanse contaminants. Their stainless steel construction is designed to withstand use in external locations, while optional high visibility power coated finishes are available in green, yellow, white or orange.   Audible and visual alarms are also available to alert staff that first aid is required, and can also assist emergency personnel to find and treat people sooner therefore helping to minimise injuries.

The hand or foot-operated dual units complement a broader range of Enware industrial safety equipment, including portable and self contained eyewash units for remote sites and spill prevention and containment products, spill pallets, workstations, salvage drums, overpacks and drum dispensing products.

Enware is the largest manufacturer of stainless steel showers in Australia and exports to 15 countries. The company is accredited to the highest ISO quality grading, ISO 9001, for its quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing of its ranges of water technology and safety products. Enware’s custom manufacturing capability provides solutions engineered to particular safety requirements.
