FAST-ACT® wall unit offers speedy response to chemical spills and hazardous vapours

A compact and highly visible wall unit is being introduced by Enware to give laboratory personnel immediate access to its FAST-ACT® broad spectrum toxic chemical spill response sorbent.

The new unit incorporates a 500g shaker of FAST-ACT® along with directions for immediate chemical spill response to deal with a wide range of hazardous chemical spills in laboratories, including commercial, industrial, scientific, educational and medical facilities. 

The easy-to-use shaker - for which no special training and no pre-mixing is required – provides an ideal solution for immediate response to spills of a wide range of hazardous substances, including acids, solvents, caustics, toxic matter, halogens, phosphorus compounds and inorganic compounds, says Enware Business Development Manager, Environmental and Health, Mr. Scott Whittaker.
 
Broad spectrum FAST-ACT® – also available in 1kg cylinders - is formulated to eliminate hesitation and delay in emergencies because users don’t have to think about which treatment to use. It is effective over such a broad range of potentially hazardous substances that it effectively replaces as many as five different treatments that would otherwise be required.

FAST-ACT® is a non-toxic, non-corrosive and environmentally friendly sorbent that is easy to maintain and use and has no limited shelf life. FAST-ACT® (First Applied Sorbent Treatment – Against Chemical Threats) has also been successfully trialled on hydrofluoric acid at the Australian National University to complement its successful use on the most Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs) and Toxic Industrial Materials (TIMs) in the market.

The technology incorporated into FAST-ACT® enables relatively small quantities of product to be used immediately on toxic liquid or vapour incidents. FAST-ACT adsorbs to the toxic chemical molecule and breaks it down to a non-toxic by-product. The large surface area also means the powder will 100% neutralize toxic vapour droplets instantly. (Just 20g of FAST-ACT® has a surface area equivalent to a football field!!)
