|

A rugged but lightweight IBC spill containment unit engineered to comply with some of the world’s most demanding environmental and workplace regulations is being introduced to Australia by Enware Safe-Equip.
The one-piece 100 per cent polyethylene IBC 2000i™ - weighing just 132.44 kg and with a compact 144cm(L) X 142cm (W) footprint - fits most IBC dispensing units and features an integrated 19-litre paid holder for quick easy dispensing.
Readily forkliftable (without load) for rapid transport around worksites, the unit is also nestable for shipping and storage and has a sump capacity of 1457.4 litres that meets and exceeds EPA40 CFR 264.175 requirements.
With a load bearing capacity of 3628.7kg, the IBC2000i is part of Safe-Equip’s advanced range of spill pallet and workstation systems that help combat slip, fall and trip accidents accounting for more than 25,000 new workers compensation cases a year in Australia. The average cost per claim for such accidents now exceeds $18,900, according to WorkCover NSW statistics.
Enware Safe-Equip’s range of Enpac polyethylene equipment is manufactured by the world-respected US Enpac organization to comply with and exceed some of the world’s most demanding packaging and environmental standards for handling, storage and transporting of hazardous materials,
The range also includes:
- Two and four-drum capacity Poly-Spillpallets™ - including an inline space-saving Poly-Spillpallet™ 3000 for four drums - plus two, four, six and eight drum Enware Safe-Equip Drum Workstations
- Space-saving, four-drum Poly-Spillpallet™ 3000, which permits drum storage near walls and between columns and other obstacles. This low (30cm) profile pallet with raised edge has a load bearing capacity of 1350kg and 250.8 litre sump.
- Two-drum forkliftable Poly-Spillpallet™ 2000 with a 900kg load bearing capacity UDL and a sump capacity of 220.4 litres with drain hole and plug.
- Four-drum Poly Slim-Line 6000™, forkliftable from all four sides and with a load bearing capacity of 2700kg UDL in four 205-litre drums. This low (30cm) profile product features a raised edge on back and sides to help secure barrels.
- Drums Workstations™ in 2, 4, 6 and 8-drum capacities and Multiple Drums Workstations can be combined by a Link-lock™ feature, combining the workstations into a tough, stable surface that won’t rust or corrode.
Enware Australian Pty Ltd Managing Director Mr Paul Degnan says that not only do the pallets and workstations limit worker exposure to accidents, but also they reduce materials costs by reclaiming spillage and reduce disposal costs.
“The tough but light range is intelligently designed to enable workers to boost productivity by moving more product more quickly. A major benefit also, in these days of high workers compensation claims, is potentially being able to reduce premiums by demonstrating first class facilities plans and materials handling products.”
The latest National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) figures show that Australian industries particularly prone to workers compensation claims include Transport and storage; Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; Manufacturing; Construction; and Mining
Mr Degnan says the Enware Safe-Equip range is unique in Australasia because it brings together in one system a complete range of solutions to materials handling issues commonly arising across a broad spectrum of industrial applications.
