Safe storage and handling of 205 litre drums in the workplace is now an established occupational health and safety practice, but the security of smaller containers is sometimes overlooked because of a lack of suitable pallets and spill stations.
To fill the need for safe handling and dispensing of these vessels, Enware Safe-Equip has introduced a rack and stack system designed to fit smaller containers, with built-in spill protection including an enclosed sump.
The Mini Racker-Stacker consists of a base Racker that holds two 20-30 litre metal or plastic pails, with a Stacker module available that sits atop the Racker and can hold a further two such pails.
Safeguarding against drips and overflows, the Mini Racker has a spill tray and a sump that can hold 30 litres of fluid. The Racker is available with wheels for easy movement around the workplace and also has a handle accessory for towing.
Mini Racker has compact dimensions of 79 x 74 x 38 cm. Made of tough but lightweight polyethylene that cannot rust or corrode, it weighs just 5.7 kg yet can support 91 kg.
The Mini Stacker doubles the capacity of the Racker, allowing it to support a further 100 kg.
Enware Australia Pty Ltd Managing Director Mr Paul Degnan says that not only do the Racker and Stacker limit worker exposure to accidents, but they also reduce materials costs by reclaiming spillage and cutting disposal expenses.
“Our product solutions can secure your profits while ensuring you protect both the environment and your workers.”
The Mini Racker-Stacker system is part of a broader range of spill containment, environmental and worker protection products from Enware Safe-Equip.
The tough but lightweight polyethylene equipment complies with some of the world’s most demanding packaging and environmental standards for handling, storage and transporting of hazardous materials.
“Safe-Equip products are intelligently designed to enable workers to boost productivity by moving more product more quickly. A major benefit also, in these days of high workers compensation claims, is potentially being able to reduce premiums by demonstrating first class facilities plans and materials handling products,” Mr Degnan says.
Slip, fall and trip accidents now account for more than 25,000 new workers compensation cases a year in Australia.
The latest National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) figures show that Australian industries particularly prone to workers compensation claims include transport and storage; agriculture, forestry and fishing; manufacturing; construction; and mining.
Mr Degnan says the Enware range is unique in Australasia because it brings together in one system a complete range of solutions to materials handling issues commonly arising across a broad spectrum of industrial applications.
Enware Australia is part of Enpac Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of plastic spill prevention, containment and control products. It has over two decades of experience in delivering performance and best value in design engineering and production capacity.
