Elegant Oras single lever tapware has been released by Enware featuring an ergonomically designed extended handle to help provide greater control for users, particularly those with a disability or who are elderly.
The commercial quality Oras Vega Extended Mixer is specifically designed for compliance with AS1428, governing publicly accessible toilet design, and for disability-accessible design applications
The European-styled tapware for commercial, health care, domestic and industrial applications shares the broader Oras ranges’ smart appearance and outstanding durability, providing a versatile user-friendly design that is equally attractive and functional for use by able and disabled users alike.
“Oras extended lever models are specifically designed to be non-institutional in character, style and universal functionality,” says Enware Managing Director Paul Degnan. “They provide a robust quality design that is equally suitable for public use while incorporating strong ergonomic and anthropometric design for safe, easy use and control to assist elderly and disabled users.”
“Our Australian design accommodates stiff hands as well as facilitating actuation by forearm and wrist or by artificial grasping devices. The research behind the handle design was exhaustive and we are very proud of the ergonomic and tactile benefits it delivers, including assisting the user with more controlled forward and sideways movement for total flow and temperature control.
Highly visible coloured temperature indicators on the top of the handle clearly assist users, particularly those with visual impairment. The colour indicators, available in red, yellow and blue, facilitate compliance with mandatory requirements for safe warm water delivery.
Maintenance is minimised by a highly robust cartridge design shared by all Oras tapware, with a metal stem for superior strength, long life and simplicity of maintenance.
Tap handles and their connection to the cartridge have been engineered to help cope with more aggressive impacts encountered in busy domestic, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and workplace environments.
As a key design element, the handle may detach under extreme load before the internal cartridge or connecting spigot is damaged, reducing the cost, time and labour required for servicing.
“By sharing a single cartridge type, inventory needs and maintenance costs and complexity are reduced. And because both the cartridge and the taps themselves are of outstanding commercial quality, they provide excellent lifespan and value,” said Mr Degnan.
“The Oras range is also backed by the national service resources of Enware, ensuring that parts and technical backup are freely available, unlike some lower quality imports which can be here today and gone tomorrow.”
Among the leading Australian and international companies that have chosen Enware tapware and safety systems are McDonald’s, Coles supermarkets, Qantas Catering, Woolworths Australia, Hungry Jack’s, Starbucks, Century Zinc, Berala Nursing Home, Blue Haven Retirement Village, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Melbourne and Sydney Universities, Australian National University, Curtin University WA and ACT.
