Designed and manufactured in Australia, Enware’s food service rinse gun is helping local and international companies to use less than half the hot water per plate washed compared with older designs.

The FS729 Ultra Rinse Food Service Gun - a version of which has been adopted nationally by Woolworths in Australia - is the first product of its type to carry both the WaterMark to AS/NZS 3718 and WELS 6 Star Water Efficiency Rating.

The Ultra Rinse Food Service gun as used by Woolworths was a finalist this year in Australia’s premier manufacturing awards, the Endeavour Awards, in the category “Australian Industrial Product of the Year”.

Woolworths uses the gun in more than 700 of its supermarkets, serving more than 13 million customers Australia-wide, each week. Over one thousand, six hundred Ultra Rinse food service guns have been installed to save both water and energy.

Based on industry standard average use per day, Enware calculates the FS729 will save more than 25 million litres of water a year, as well as nearly $1.75 million in energy costs.

With a nominal flow rate of four litres a minute, the FS729 Ultra Rinse food service gun also achieves the internationally respected benchmark of California’s pre-rinse spray valve specifications. The gun has since been sold to major international fast food groups.

“The Enware FS729 Ultra Rinse project was given enthusiastic guidance and support by Woolworths, which responded to our initiative with the offer of a four-store store trial to assess the accuracy of our water saving predictions,” said Adam Degnan.

“The success of this initial trial resulted in a national rollout of the FS729 Ultra Rinse gun across every Woolworths and Big W store in operation at the time, as well as some hotels"

“Enware assisted in the completion of the national rollout by providing a team of plumbers that could do the work efficiently and in response to local needs"

“We employed an additional six plumbers over the course of the project to ensure on-time delivery and have kept them all employed since"

“Enware visited every store and completed the project within both the time frame set out under local State guidelines and Woolworths own project targets"

“Designed in conjunction with Woolworth’s staff and the specification team, Enware also adapted the FS729 Ultra Rinse gun for a purpose-designed pre-rinse spray assembly. The resulting product is now standard on all Woolworths Product Specification for food preparation and wash down areas"

Enware Australia’s FS729 Ultra Rinse food service gun’s achievement of the WaterMark to AS/NZS 3718 and WELS 6 Star Water Efficiency Rating is especially important in terms of complying with State and Federal water conservation initiatives for a huge range of industry. This is because the achievement allows this product to be legally sold and installed in accordance with relevant Federal, State and Territory legislation
