Enware LEEC mortuary equipment at Wollongong Hospital provides greater levels of infection control and better use of space Enware has recently supplied and installed a range of proven and respected LEEC body handling solutions for Wollongong Hospital’s newly refurbished Mortuary Facility.

The LEEC products, supplied by Enware and available throughout Australia and New Zealand included stainless steel height adjustable racking system, body trays, mobile extraction autopsy tables as well as semi obese and bariatric equipment which can accommodate bodies weighing up to 415kgs.

The range of LEEC Mortuary equipment Enware supplied provides both economical and operational benefits. Improved storage capacity and flexibility, unnecessary handling has been eliminated and easier access for equipment cleaning plus reduced energy costs. ” says Mr Jordi Skelton, Enware Business Development Manager.

Enware consulted clinicians and current user groups to fully understand their usage and requirements, before re-designing the space to be more effective, efficient and functional. Consideration was also given to the overall master plan of Wollongong Hospital and its projected future usage.

Hygiene was a major consideration in the refurbishment; Enware addressed this by introducing the LEEC tray transfer system to greatly reduce manual handling and other health and safety issues within the department. LEEC’s ‘Body Handling’ concept originated by LEEC some 40 years ago, is a practical solution which reduces physical effort, as well as minimising repeated handling and hazardous practices.

“We provide full service benefits with LEEC equipment, which covers training, installation and ongoing service and maintenance. For Wollongong Hospital, we were able to provide bespoke autopsy stations to meet their specific infection control requirements.” said Mr Skelton.
