The Sensor Outlet Temp DN20 Clip is a compact temperature sensing accessory designed for installation on DN20 pipework downstream of a thermostatic mixing valve (TMV). When connected to the Smart Flow monitoring system, it provides continuous outlet temperature measurement, enabling remote monitoring and verification of mixed water temperatures. The WMSRFS02 Sensor Outlet Temp DN20 Clip utilises the high thermal conductivity of copper pipework to accurately measure the temperature of water flowing through the outlet line. Copper rapidly transfers heat from the mixed water to the external pipe surface, allowing the clip-on sensor to achieve thermal equilibrium with the pipe and provide a temperature reading that closely reflects the temperature of the water within. In a thermostatic mixing valve installation, the mixed hot and cold water stream is already combined before entering the outlet pipe. As the water passes through the copper outlet, the pipe wall acts as an efficient thermal conductor, enabling the externally mounted sensor to monitor the mixed water temperature without direct immersion in the flow. For many applications, the Sensor Outlet Temp DN20 Clip delivers the same core Smart Flow functionality as the SFM3000 Smart Flow Mixing Chamber with Probe by supplying outlet water temperature data to the Smart Flow monitoring system. While the SFM3000 uses an internal baffled mixing chamber to stabilise temperature readings by thoroughly mixing the water flow, the WMSRFS02 offers a streamlined alternative for installations where a clip-on temperature sensing solution is preferred.
